Farrokh Dilmanian Celebrates Years of Professional Excellence in Physics and Medical Research
Dr. Dilmanian affiliates himself with the Radiation Research Society
YAPHANK, NEW YORK, August 8, 2017, Farrokh Dilmanian has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Best known for applying physics to medicine and medical research, Dr. Dilmanian currently excels in his role as professor of research in the Department of Radiology at Stony Brook University. In the context of his position, he conducts research on experimental methods of radiation therapy utilizing the tissue-sparing effects of arrays of parallel, thin or small x-ray particle beans, and X-ray imaging. In addition, he conducts research alongside Dr. James Hainfeld of Nanoprobes, Inc., in regards to experimental radiation therapy with dose-enhancing agents such as gold nanoparticles. Prior to obtaining his current position, he lent his expertise to The Weizmann Institute of Science as a visiting scientist, and the Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he worked in the medical department.
A graduate of Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Dilmanian holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a PhD in Physics. From there, he pursued postdoctoral research through Washington University. A member of the Radiation Research Society, he has conducted research along with other scholars on a variety of topics within the field of physics and how it can be applied to medicine and medical research. Notably, he has been recognized on numerous occasions for his work in the field, earning a First Long Island Technology Hall of Fame Patent Award on two separate occasions. In the coming years, Dr. Dilmanian intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
