Monica M. Mita Celebrates More than Two Decades of Professional Excellence in Medicine
Dr. Mita maintains affiliation with the UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA, September 6, 2017, Monica Mita has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than 20 years of clinical research experience, Dr. Mita works as a co-director of experimental therapeutics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, where she specializes in breast cancer, sarcoma and early clinical trials. Additionally, she affiliates herself with UCLA and has teaching responsabilities as professor of medicine. Over the years, she has honed her expertise through research into phase I clinical trials in oncology, novel drugs and targeted therapies.
A graduate of the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Dr. Mita holds an MD, which she earned in 1992. In the ensuing years, she completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, as well as a fellowship at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center. Throughout her career, she has contributed her extensive knowledge to a number of articles in professional journals regarding the mTOR pathway, reovirus-based therapy for cancer, and combined autophagy and HDAC inhibition and many others. Looking ahead, Dr. Mita intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
