An assistant professor in the department of botany at Haflong Government College for the past five years, Dr. Upadhyay formerly spent two years as a teaching assistant and one year as a researcher at Assam University. His extensive experience in his field stems from many years of study, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in botany, with honors, from Assam University. Since that time, he has completed a Diploma of Computer Science in neo-world computer education, Master of Science in botany, and both a Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in plant environmental physiology and biochemistry. Dr. Upadhyay is also certified in computer programming through the Tokyon Computer Systems in India.
Honored many times for his accomplishments in the field, Dr. Upadhyay recently received an Elsevier Science Reviewer Recognition Award in 2017, previously receiving the award in 2014 and 2015. Listed in several editions of the Dictionary of International Biography with the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England, he also received a Research Scholarship Award from the Government of Assam, India, as well as a Research Fellowship from the University Grants Commission with the Government of India.
Dr. Upadhyay has written extensively in his area of expertise. He is the author of two books, "Plant Heavy Metal Stress" and "Plant Stress Physiology" through Lap Lambert Academic Publishing, has recently contributed chapters to two books, including 'Secondary Metabolites: The Plant Physiological Tale of Stress Response' in the book "Emerging Trends of Plant Physiology for Sustainable Crop Production" in 2018 and 'What Alters Plant Photosynthetic Regulatory Mechanism in Environments?' in the book "Environment and Photosynthesis: A Future Prospect" in 2017, and he has served on the editorial board for a number of scholarly publications, including the "Journal of Molecular Biology and Techniques" and "Journal of Plant Stress Physiology." Moreover, Dr. Upadhyay has contributed more than 30 articles to peer-reviewed journals and has served as a reviewer and referee for dozens of manuscripts between 2009 and 2017.
A participant at several national and international symposia throughout his career, Dr. Upadhyay is a lifetime member of the National Environmental Science Academy, the Indian Society for Plantation Crops and the Society for Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in the World since 2011 for his accomplishments.
