Robert Paul O’Block Celebrated by Marquis Who’s Who for 50 Years of Professional Excellence

Mr. O’Block has parlayed his extensive knowledge to students and clients at prestigious
institutions like Boston Symphony Orchestra, Harvard, and McKinsey & Company, Inc.

CHESTNUT HILL, MA, May 10, 2017, Robert Paul O’Block has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by an impressive five decades of invaluable contributions to his field, Mr. O’Block serves as a general and managing partner for Freeport Center, where he has worked since 1971, and as a director emeritus for McKinsey Advisory Council, where he has served since 1998. Earlier in his career, he became a research and teaching fellow in finance, economics and urban management at Harvard University. Before obtaining his current roles, he held numerous executive positions, including director and principal, for McKinsey & Co. Inc. (1969-1997) and office manager for McKinsey Boston. Over the course of his many years in the field, he also worked as a lecturer on urban economics at Yale Law School and Princeton University.

An alumnus of prestigious universities such as Purdue University and Harvard University, Mr. O’Block holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, as well as an MBA. A contributor to numerous articles in professional journals, he enjoys giving back to his community through such organizations as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, where he was Chair of the Board of Overseers, Trustee and Vice-Chair and Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Snowbird Arts Institute, and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he has worked on the board of trustees as vice chairman since 2012. As a testament to his hard work and success, Mr. O’Block has been featured in the 25th through 37th editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, the inaugural edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, and four editions of Who’s Who in the East.
