Thomas Gilmore Dolan Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who

CHICAGO, IL, April 16, 2018, Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Thomas Gilmore Dolan with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Dolan celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. For more than 45 years, Mr. Dolan was employed at DePaul University, having been recognized time and time again for his tireless efforts and enthusiasm for higher education. As an education association administrator at the university, which is located in the heart of Chicago and offers more than 300 undergraduate degree programs with a second campus in Lincoln Park, Mr. Dolan considers DePaul a wonderful place to work. Beginning his career in 1968, he has recently retired in 2014 after having spent many years at DePaul University as an associate director.

Mr. Dolan has led an extensive background in academia. Upon the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in 1954 at Marquette University, he began teaching at Edgewood College as a part-time instructor, followed by a full-time instructor position. Between 1962 and 1968, he also taught as a full-time instructor at Loyola University, during which time he completed a Master of Arts in Philosophy at Marquette University. Beginning his career in academic administration at DePaul University in 1968, he also taught intermittently as an adjunct faculty member of philosophy at the College of Lake County, Northeastern Illinois University, Barat College, College of St. Francis, and Columbia College of Missouri in the early 1970s. From 1979 to 2014, he also taught at Oakton Community College. From 1982 to 1999, he was a nursing assistant at Lake Forest Hospital.

Married to the late Mary Ellen Burns in 1963, Mr. Dolan has two daughters. He has been highlighted in Who’s Who in America between 2011 and 2016 for his accomplishments in his field.
